EPA Begins Action on Waters of the US Definition

On Friday, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that it will begin taking steps to replace the definition of the Waters of the US, which both the Obama and Trump Administrations addressed over the last six years. The EPA plans to replace the National Waters Protection Rule implemented during the Trump Administration with the Waters of the US regulations that were in place before the Obama Administration's Waters of the US rule. The agency will then begin the process of writing a new rule, beginning with stakeholder input sessions beginning this month.
