Family Business Coalition Continues Push to End Estate Tax

Last week, the Family Business Coalition, of which SLMA is a member, sent a letter to Congressmen Jason Smith (R-MO) and Sanford Bishop (D-GA) in support of the Death Tax Repeal Act, of which the Congressmen are the lead co-sponsors. Congresswoman Krisit Noem (R-SD) has been the Republican lead, but is not running for re-election.

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, passed last year, doubled the estate tax exemption to $22.4 million for a married couple. The Family Business Coalition continues to advocate for full repeal of the estate tax.
