SLMA Welcomes New Associate Member: Covington County Commission for Economic Development

Our mission at the Covington County Commission for Economic Development is to bring quality jobs to our citizens. We spend every day trying to recruit business and industry to Covington County.

 

Our County has business opportunities that a lot of rural areas do not. For instance, we have solid Aviation facilities  and companies on our airport that are rare to find in rural Alabama. We have a strong dedicated workforce that is eager to better themselves. 

 

One of the areas we would like to focus on is the Forestry Industry. Our largest resource in our county is pine trees. We believe a saw mill would would fit very well as a part of our community. We hope our partnership with SLMA will help us discover opportunities for our citizens in the wood products industry.
